Trails and weather

-3F this morning. Big change from Friday's +48F. Had some rain Friday night that packed down the 2-3' of snow earlier in the week. The lakes are flat as a pancake and very good going. The weight of the snow and the rain has pushed the ice down and cracked it. Then the lake water comes up through the ice and gives us nice slushy pockets, so watch out, don't get stuck! Lots of folks passing through yesterday commented that Chesuncook Lake was the worst for slush. Most of that slush should have frozen up with last night's low temps. Outside of that groomed yesterday to break up the trail and icy spots. Ride safe!
