Weather Plus!

A beautiful crisp day +13F, sunny and warm in the sun. Outside I can hear a woods crew cutting north of us towards Brandy Pond. Probably 15-20 miles away, I can hear them clear as a bell. They work 4:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Thursday, 12 hour days. They'll go home Thursday afternoon and head back to the woods Sunday afternoon. Because of the warmer days they'll soon be restricted to only hauling their loads to the mills at night for the next 4-6 weeks then no hauling at all till June. So, they're working hard to make a living while they can. Tuff, hard working men. Mainer's work ethic is alive and well with these guys.

We've been watching American Logger on Discovery each Friday 9-11 PM - it's all about Maine's Loggers - and from your area... Great to see familiar faces/places... Wish we were still up there. It puts a bit of perspective on what and how they do things up there. Anyone who's traveled the Golden Road or Telos Road will enjoy this program...and yes, MUD season is fast approaching. It was the one season I could have done without while living there. Sorry to hear about the two additional sleds...
